week 4 blog 4.27.11

I am still reading The little house on the prairie by:Laura Ingalls Wilder and
I am liking it so far because I am most like Laura because I act like her sometimes
and I picture myself as her. I think that I am more like Laura then Frankie in the
book, Monster High by: Lisi Harrison because I am not trying to be cool and
popular and I am most defiantly not green like Frankie. I also know that I don't
need to be charged like Frankie and I have been told that I can choose how I want
my room to look like, but then I realized that I have a sister and a cousin that I
would have to share the room with. I think that Frankie is just trying to be
herself but she is realizing that she is considered a "monster". Laura is confident
and she is definatly not considered a monster, she also has a better life then Frankie because she doesn't have to hide herself like Frankie does.

Understanding your character is a good way for you to really get into your book and see from another person's perspective. In your response this week, describe your character. Think about and discuss how you understand your main characters. 

 I am still reading The little house on the prairie by: Laura Ingalls Wilder and I am noticing a lot of things about my characters on how they dress/act and behave, what their personality is like, what their financial situation, how old they are, who their friends and family are, and the type of jobs that they have.  I have also realized that my main character, Laura is not really polite because on pg.46 it says, "Why don't  you like Indians Ma?" Laura asked, as she caught a drip of molasses with her tongue. Also because her mom infers that she is being on rude and I know that because on pg.47 it says, "I just don't like them; and don't lick your fingers, Laura." said Ma. I also know that Laura doesn't always listen to her parents, but she does love to help around the house a lot with her sister Mary.

I also know that her family is not rich because they have to build their house and
camp outside and rich families don't build their house or camp outside.
One of the other things that I found out was that she is not that scared of the
woods because I know that she has been there for a long time with her sisters,
Mary and Carrie so, she is used to living in the woods with her family.
I am guessing that Laura, Mary and baby Carrie are home schooled and I think
that their father's job is hunting because he always hunts to feed the family.
This book has not adressed how old they are except for Carrie which is 3 years old, I can guess that Laura is 12 years old because of the way that she acts towards her family. I can also guess that Mary is 10 or 11 years old because I
know that Mary is Laura's little sister and Carrie is the youngest child out of all
three of the children.

Week2 4.7.11.

I want my book, Little House on the Prairie, to look like a little house on the front cover and a little walk way or trail to the house and a little dog by the house.I want the sun coming into the windows and the curtains are open and tied together so it is open all of the way. I want the house to look like a old house with all of the
characters on the front cover like Ma, Pa, Mary, Laura, Baby Carrie, and Jack, their dog.

I want the sun coming in from the corner and all of the clouds to be all together I also want the sky to be
a baby blue where the sun is sinking slowly at the herison.

Week 1 March 18, 2011

Give the title, author, publisher, copyright date, genre (how do you know the genre - from the back of the book, the title page, the text?), a description of the cover of the book, and the main character(s) you have met so far and on what page you first met them.
 The book I am reading is called Little house on the prarie and the author
is Laura Ingalls wilder.The publishers are are Harper and Row.
The copy right date is 1963.
The genre is historical fiction I know this because the author is talking about 
the past or the history.
The main charecters are Ma,Pa,and Baie Carrie I met these charecters 
on page 4. 
The author talks about the parents and how they used to live in this little house when
they were children. I like how the author describes the house in the book and the author 
tells how  the parents used to have a pathway by the little house.
Now the house is not there anymore and that is where I am at in the story so far.

week3book blog The clique.

I am now reading the book I have wanted to read in so long I am so happy I
finally got to read The clique because when I heard of the series that was when
I wanted to start reading it and now my wish has finally come true!!!!!!!!!!
The clique is about this group of friends that are in 7th grade and it is an all
girl middle school and isn't that awesome I have always wanted to go to an
all girls middle school! This girl, Claire well she is living in the guest house
by Massie(the leader of the clique), and she has to stay there until her parents
could find a place of their own. Massie did not look forward to this at all she
thinks that Claire is wanting to be apart of the clique and Claire is definatly not
clique material.If I was in Claire's shoes I would just not even try to be in the
clique because being friends with someone that you live by is not that cool to me
and I would just stay away from the clique and try to be friends with someonelse.

week2Access denied book blog.

My book is Access denied I am almost finished with it then I could read
The clique,by Lisi harison I have been waiting to read that book for so long.
I have been thinking that if Reede stops smoking then Erin's mom will get along
with her better. Erin wants Reede to get along with her mom better because all
of Erin's other friends her mom can get along. Here's the thing, Reede
smokes so ofcourse Erin's mom is not going to get along with her like Erin's
other friends.in my book Erin is like wanting Mark after he broke up with Kara
because she has liked him ever since she became friends with him so I am really
looking foward to Erin and Mark to start going out towards the end of the book.

Week1 book blog Access denied

My book is called Access denied and what really makes this book intresting
is that Erin(the first and the main character) starts dating a freshman and this
boy, Mark(the second character) breaks up with his girlfriend, Kara(the second
character). He realizes that Erin broke up with her boyfriend and now
it is his turn to ask her out but Kara is getting mad at her for steeling her boyfriend
and Kara thinks that is one of the reasons why Mark broke up with her.
 What happens between Jilly(the third character) is really interesting as well
because she is mad that Erin because she was spending more time with her other
friend which is her locker partaner as well, Redde(the fourth character) than
with Jilly and Jilly thinks that Reede is more of a friend then Jilly is to Erin.
